Week 1 Song 2 - Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace
*Note R.m = relative minor

0                                       5                0
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
            0                                7
That saved a wretch like me.
      0                             5             0
I once was lost but now am found,
         0 (or R.m.) 7       0
Was blind, but now I see.

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.Amazing Grace

How to tune your instrument

The first lesson will be on how to tune your instrument.

Below I am providing a list of the pitches you will be tuning your instruments to for this course.

Guitar - D2 A2 D3 F#3 A3 D4

Mandolin - A2 D3 A3 D4

Banjo - (5th string F#4 or A4) D3 F#3 A3 D4

Violin - Use standard tuning G2 D3 A3 E4 or tune to A2 D3 A3 D4 tuning like Mandolin

The number behind the pitch name is the number of which key it is on the piano. So a D2 would be the second D on the piano, A 4 would be the 4th A on the piano, etc.
